'The Lab' typically refers to job roles within a laboratory setting, where professionals conduct scientific research, experiments, or analysis. These positions can range from lab technicians and assistants to research scientists, depending on the focus of the lab (such as medical, chemical, or biological research). Lab jobs often require attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to use specialized equipment and processes. The work can support scientific discovery, product development, or quality control in industries like healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and academia.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a laboratory technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Laboratory Technician, you need a solid background in biology or chemistry, laboratory safety knowledge, and at least an associate degree in a related field. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), spectrophotometers, and relevant certifications like ASCP are highly valued.
