Job description

Transform Lives Through Communication - Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Overview
Imagine stepping into a new chapter of your career, one that empowers others to express themselves and connect with the world around them. As a Speech Language Pathologist in Milwaukee, a city filled with cultural vibrance and community spirit, your contributions will reach far beyond diagnosing and treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will be a catalyst for change, reigniting aspirations, restoring confidence, and fostering human relationships.
This position provides a rare opportunity to engage with individuals across all ages, blending outpatient therapy with the occasional need for inpatient support. Whether your heart lies in helping toddlers articulate their first words, supporting adults with neurogenic conditions, or aiding seniors in regaining cognitive-linguistic skills, you will find the perfect environment here to pursue your passion.
Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients of all ages using evidence-based assessments and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that address both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Implement targeted one-on-one speech therapy sessions focused on language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of therapists, physicians, nurses, families, and caregivers to design integrated care strategies.
  • Deliver education to patients and families to facilitate improvements in communication and understanding beyond therapy.
  • Support some inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuity of care within the treatment process.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaborative practice.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) as per accreditation requirements if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for diverse populations, with a solid grasp on developmental and acquired speech and language disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility in adapting therapy approaches to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic contexts.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and problem-solving capacity.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and documentation protocols.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary aligned with experience level.
  • Flexible scheduling to enhance work-life harmony and cater to a varied patient load.
  • Opportunities to delve into specialties such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday benefits.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • Collaboration within a team-focused environment dedicated to delivering quality care and fostering continuous learning.

A Journey of Communication Awaits You
In this role, you will do more than simply provide therapy; you will join a mission aimed at restoring voices, enhancing communication, and producing uplifting experiences through genuine human interactions.
Here, you will collaborate with a team of dedicated clinicians who share a familial ethos, fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere where everyone's contributions are valued. Each patient has their own narrative, and we trust you to be instrumental in helping to craft it.
Why Milwaukee is the Perfect Home for You
Milwaukee boasts a unique blend of progressive energy and friendly hospitality. As the city rises along the shores of Lake Michigan, it captivates with its vibrant art scene, historic architecture, and an overall welcoming community that encourages both locals and newcomers alike to thrive.
In this city, you can enjoy summertime street festivals filled with live music, savoring a world-class culinary scene that reflects a rich heritage, all while being surrounded by scenic parks, lively neighborhoods, and access to stunning waterfronts. Outdoorsy individuals can relish in hiking or biking along trails that wind through nature preserves, while those who enjoy urban exploration can indulge in museums, galleries, and cultural events year-round.
Aside from an enviable lifestyle, professionals here benefit from a strong economy, exceptional public schools, and a lower-than-average cost of living, creating an ideal backdrop for both personal and career development.
Whether you're entering the field or a seasoned practitioner eager to branch out, this opportunity will allow you to grow - both professionally and personally.
Your Calling Awaits
We are looking for a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist who is not only focused on achieving results but approaches their work with compassion. Someone who envisions a world where every child can express themselves openly, and who aids stroke survivors on their journey to regain their voices.
Whether you're a pediatric expert wanting to broaden your horizon into adult services or a neuro-focused professional wishing to incorporate early interventions into your repertoire, we are here to welcome you with open arms.
If you believe that building trust is as crucial as meeting goals, if you view laughter as an essential ingredient in therapy, then this could be your next career milestone.
Join us in contributing to a community that finds strength in communication and connection. Apply today and bring your voice to our team - helping others to uncover theirs.
