Job description

Pavement Technology, Inc. (PTI) has been the leader in rejuvenating asphalt for over 50 years. We aim to offer long-term, environmentally responsible technologies to rejuvenate roadways, stabilize road joints, restore seals, suppress dust, and restore recycled asphalt. Our team is second to none. We travel throughout the country, rejuvenating one road at a time.
We are growing and need drivers with a CDL Class A or B to work full-time, year-round, traveling throughout GA, NC, SC, and sunny FL, working on a road crew. You must currently hold a CDL Class A or Class B license.

Duties:
  • Assist with closing and reopening roadways, setting up and taking down cones and signage, flagging traffic, and cleaning the road for the rejuvenating application.
  • When needed, walk to each resident's home or business to pass out flyers informing them of pending roadwork.
  • Speak to residents, city officials, and business owners to answer questions.
  • Load the dump truck using a front loader.
  • Drive the dump truck to the job site.
  • Operate the dump truck to spread a sand mixture on treated roadways.
  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections of equipment.
  • Keep issued work truck clean and performing.
  • Troubleshoot issues, conduct routine maintenance, and fill out maintenance logs.
  • Report any safety hazards and unsafe conditions, as well as any DOT violations (including but not limited to HOS).
  • Follow all DOT rules and regulations
  • Record all drive time and keep accurate records of expenses
  • Learn how to operate, maintain, and drive a distributor truck and sweeper truck for cross-training purposes
  • Responsible for communication with home office, team, and supervisors via email and text
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Valid CDL Class A or B with a current medical card REQUIRED
  • Passing grade on the Flagger Course
  • Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations
  • Clean driving record
  • Not prohibited in the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must pass a background, MVR check and drug screen
  • Must be able to travel out of town for up to 3 weeks at a time
  • Comfortable working in traffic zones, controlling the flow of traffic
  • Possess excellent communication skills. Verbal and written
  • Tech savvy, using multiple devices and software
  • Being a team player and enjoy working on a team is a must
  • Intermediate math skills: addition, multiplication, division, percentages, and fraction knowledge

Working Conditions:
  • The ability to lift up to 30 pounds and physically capable of performing all duties as assigned
  • Required to stand for long periods while using hand/arm movements with limited breaks
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, and handling materials.
  • Able to work/drive in all weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and heat
  • Must wear all assigned PPE
