Founded in 1980, our company provides a full complement of property management, brokerage, leasing and renovation services for commercial, residential and senior living properties throughout the United States. Tarantino currently manages over $2 Billion in real estate assets.


Tarantino Properties is seeking a Corporate Controller in Houston, Texas to lead our accounting department.


The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions including billing, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have experience in a high transactional and fast-paced environment. The Controller will work closely with firm leadership in a full-time, in-office capacity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CFO and other executives to provide strategic insights based on financial data and analysis
  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and long-term planning
  • Oversee the budget process
  • Coordinate and review financial statements to be completed in a timely manner
  • Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
  • Interface with clients as needed
  • Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and best practices

Requirements

 Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree Required - Business, Accounting, Finance, or related major
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • High integrity, professionalism, positive attitude, and desire to be a team player
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in leading accounting transformations, system implementations, or organizational change
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must reside in Houston, Texas
