Job description

Account Manager/Project Consultant (Event Productions)
Milwaukee, WI
Full-Time | In Office with Local Travel to Client Sites
About the Opportunity
Well-established, growing company seeking an Account Manager/Project Consultant to join their team. This is a relationship-driven role focused on managing client accounts, guiding projects, and delivering an exceptional customer experience from the initial inquiry through contract execution and project completion.
This is not a cold-calling sales position. Most opportunities come through inbound inquiries, referrals, repeat business, and trade shows. Your role is to build relationships, understand each client's needs, develop the right solution, and confidently guide them through the project and contract process.
We're especially interested in candidates from adjacent industries who understand consultative, project-based client relationships and are looking to apply their experience in a new environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from the initial inquiry through project completion
  • Manage inbound opportunities generated through referrals, repeat customers, marketing efforts, and trade shows
  • Meet with clients at their offices or project sites to understand project goals, discuss solutions, and build long-term relationships
  • Prepare proposals, review project requirements, and guide clients through the contract process
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and project staff to ensure projects are delivered on time and exceed client expectations
  • Maintain regular communication throughout each project, providing updates and ensuring an outstanding customer experience
  • Build long-term client relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals
  • Manage multiple projects while keeping schedules, documentation, and communication organized

What We're Looking For:
  • 3+ years of experience in account management, project coordination, client consulting, relationship management, or consultative sales
  • Experience in an adjacent industry, such as:
    • Commercial construction
    • Building materials
    • Architectural products
    • Commercial interiors
    • AV or lighting systems
    • Electrical or low-voltage products
    • Commercial furniture
    • Specialty products
    • Other project-based industries
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Comfortable meeting with clients on-site, understanding their needs, and guiding them through the project lifecycle
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office is preferred
  • A consultative, customer-first mindset focused on building long-term partnerships rather than transactional sales

Work Environment:
  • In-office when not meeting with clients
  • Regular local travel to customer and project sites for consultations, presentations, project meetings, and contract execution
  • No overnight travel anticipated
  • No cold calling or high-volume outbound prospecting
