Job description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Textile Winding Machine Operator to join our 3rd Shift manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining textile winding equipment to ensure materials are wound according to production specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in a textile, knitting, winding, yarn, or manufacturing environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting.

Because this position may assist with communication between Spanish- and English-speaking employees, candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor textile winding machines during the production process.
  • Load and unload yarn, thread, fabric, or other textile materials as required.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure proper tension, alignment, speed, and winding quality.
  • Inspect finished materials for defects and verify that products meet established quality specifications.
  • Identify machine or material issues and make basic operating adjustments when appropriate.
  • Report mechanical problems or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Record production quantities, downtime, quality issues, and other required production information.
  • Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily manufacturing goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing policies.
  • Communicate production instructions and workplace information effectively in both English and Spanish when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, quality teams, and other machine operators.
  • Assist with changeovers, material preparation, and other production activities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating textile winding, knitting, weaving, yarn-processing, or similar manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Previous machine operator or manufacturing experience required/preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English required.
  • Ability to understand work instructions, safety procedures, and production requirements in English.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify basic equipment problems.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability and willingness to work 1st Shift consistently.


Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Perform repetitive movements involving hands and arms.
  • Bend, reach, push, pull, and perform other movements associated with machine operation.
  • Lift and move materials within the weight limits established by the facility.
  • Work safely around moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
