About the Job:

The Indirect Tax Supervisor will lead, support, develop, and administer the indirect tax function. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: sales and use tax, personal property tax, and business licenses. Additionally, in this role, you will support internal and external customers, take ownership of continuous improvement activities within and outside of the tax department, develop value add direction reconciliation processes into monthly activities, support company-wide initiatives and goals, supervise and develop analyst level employee(s), further alignment with Accounts Payable function, while providing guidance on indirect tax strategic initiatives that may impact TICF.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead, administer, and support sales and property tax compliance with external vendors.
  • Lead, administer, and support business license compliance with external vendor.
  • Lead and administer external vendor funding and invoice requests.
  • Review and provide final approval of sales tax adjustments
  • Review and analyze tax returns/bills and other documentation to ensure accurate tax compliance.
  • Assist in multi-state sales and property tax audits.
  • Respond to tax authority notices in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Effectively research and communicate findings to support tax positions.
  • Support internal customers and departments on indirect tax related inquiries.
  • Manage the team shared mailbox for internal and external customer requests.
  • Effectively communicate, train, and guide on tax concepts to non-tax internal and external customers.
  • Support accounting on reconciliation of tax accounts.
  • Review and support sales tax calculations on invoices with accounts payable function.
  • Gather and analyze information for 1099 informational reporting.
  • Assist and support the direct tax function with provision and compliance requests.
  • Provide information and assistance to the financial reporting team, internal and external auditors.
  • Identify and take ownership of continuous improvement in workflow and overall business processes.

Process Efficiency and Projects:

  • Lead reconciliation efforts to ensure accurate accounting of tax accounts
  • Take personal responsibility for understanding and launching Kaizen activities
  • Integrate internal controls into monthly reconciliation processes

  • Prepare for and engage in bi-weekly meetings with direct report(s)
  • Manage growth and development of associates in work group

Qualifications You'll Need:

Must Have:

  • BS in Accounting or similar
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in related area/field
