Bekaert Deslee is the world’s leading specialist in the development and manufacturing of mattress textiles, mattress covers and on trend sleep solutions with U.S. operations in Winston-Salem, NC. Bekaert Deslee develops stylish and smart mattress fabrics that will inspire, comfort and protect you during the night.

We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • 1. Keep the area around the machine clean and safe to work in
  • 2. Retrieve and position full A-frames at the slitter
  • 3. Inspect the cutting blades for proper operation
  • 4. Monitor the exact slit dimensions (measure and set)
  • 5. Set the specified roll length
  • 8. Assemble boxes for packaging
  • 9. Place slit fabric into boxes
  • 10. Record the required data in the SAP, and properly identify the boxes with printed labels on top and
  • side
  • 11. Assist in any area requested by manager at any time

Skills

  • Proven experience as a machine operator
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus

BekaertDeslee USA Inc. is BekaertDeslee’s production and distribution center for the USA and Canada. BekaertDeslee USA employs about 290 persons and manufactures and sells mattress ticking to the abovementioned markets from its 270,000 sq. ft. plant and 171,000 sq. ft. warehouse. The plant consists of two main buildings with a preparation department for the production of weaving beams, a weave room with 40 jacquard looms, a knitting department with 45 circular knitting machines, a finishing department with 2 Tenter frames and a hot-melt machine, and other necessary equipment and a warehouse.
