Position Summary

Provides outside of the classroom instruction, writing and other academic support for students.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Tutors' students individually or in scheduled group study sessions to review principles, solve problems, review for tests, and provide positive and constructive feedback.
  • Facilitates reading, writing, and academic skills labs and workshops to develop writing, math, word processing, study, and other academic skills.
  • Maintains and updates confidential files and records, ensuring that ethical and legal guidelines are maintained.
  • Utilize learning materials, textbooks, software, and equipment to facilitate tutoring; may design specific handouts, study, and related materials in collaboration with academic departments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Other Attributesย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required.

  • Highly effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
