The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill vacancies for the classification of Customer Service Specialist I (Part-Time) in the Department of Utility Services. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, performs specialized duties within the Customer Service and Billing/Collections Section of the Department of Utility Services, assists customers with requests and issues regarding City utility services, and performs related duties as assigned.

Vacancy Information:

  • These positions are part-time PERS eligible.

  • These positions do not qualify for employer-paid benefits (other than PERS), wage increases, or union representation.

  • The work schedule will consist of an average of 29 hours/week.

  • Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department needs.

  • These positions will require flexible scheduling and could work any full days between Monday and Thursday.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent

  • Two (2) years of experience performing general clerical or customer service duties involving direct contact with the public

  • Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered

  • Skill in typing sufficient to type 25 net words per minute at the time of application

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483

The selection process will begin with an employment application package screening, with the best-qualified candidates being invited to participate further in the assessment process.
