Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Senior Process Engineer for a full-time onsite manufacturing position in Knoxville, Tennessee. This position is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and optimizing process engineering operations within a technical ceramic manufacturing facility. The role owns the transition of new processes from R&D into full-scale manufacturing, including equipment specification, installation oversight, commissioning, validation, and process scale-up.
POSITION OVERVIEW
• Establish, maintain, and optimize process engineering operations within a manufacturing environment
• Transition new processes from R&D into full-scale manufacturing
• Specify equipment and oversee equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and process scale-up
• Develop ceramic powder formulations and processes to produce ready-to-press products
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and process validation
• Develop manufacturing processes for new products and materials
• Manage capital projects from scoping and justification through equipment procurement and installation
• Drive process improvements that improve yield or throughput
• Lead problem-solving activities for complex process and equipment-related issues
COMPENSATION
• $111,000-$120,000
ROLE
• Develop, review, and update work instructions, quality control documentation, and operator training as required
• Serve as the primary interface with manufacturers and vendors supplying raw materials and process equipment
• Manage activities from specification setting through implementation, manufacturing, and acceptance testing
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements
• Perform detailed analysis for executive review and communicate findings across organizational levels
• Monitor production standards and performance metrics including output, downtime, scrap, and efficiency
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to optimize production processes
• Independently lead multi-phase projects including scope definition, budget management, schedule control, and contractor oversight

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or Related Discipline REQUIRED
• Minimum 7 Years In A Process Engineering Role In A Manufacturing Environment REQUIRED
• Strong Track Record Developing, Optimizing, Troubleshooting, And Scaling Manufacturing Processes REQUIRED
• Experience Managing Vendors And Contractors REQUIRED
• Experience With FAT/SAT Testing And Capital Projects From Concept Through Implementation REQUIRED
• Strong Root Cause Analysis Skills Using Data To Solve Complex Manufacturing And Equipment Issues REQUIRED
• Ability To Work Full-Time Onsite In Knoxville, Tennessee REQUIRED
Preferred
• Master's Degree Preferred
• Technical Ceramic Manufacturing Experience Preferred
• Experience With Batching Calculations, Mixing, Spray-Drying, Calcining, And Fine Particle Milling Preferred
