Job Description

Position: QA Analyst

Location: Portland, OR

Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Develops, publishes, and implements test plans. Writes and maintains test automation. Develops quality assurance standards. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Requires a bachelor's degree and at least at least 4 years or equivalent experience coding in C, C++, Java. Must have a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies. Familiar with NT, UNIX and Solaris environments. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of Contractor staff. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.


Works with project leaders to define the scope, objectives and approach for MMEP Phase 2 project User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Adapts Agile testing best practices to most efficiently satisfy project testing objectives.
Assists the project manager with planning and scheduling of all UAT cycles.
Develops, implements and trains project staff, including business specialists, on test procedures, standards and tools as required to support project UAT activities.
Plans and leads UAT cycles executed during each project Agile sprint and as a separate test level if required for final user acceptance:
- Leads walkthroughs of test cases and test results.
- Participates in the post-sprint retrospectives and future sprint planning meetings.
- Monitors and observes test activities to ensure correct performance by testers.
- Provides oversight, review, and approval of UAT cycle activities and cycle closeout.
Reports UAT execution coverage and progress, and highlights key quality concern areas to the OIS SQA/Testing Manager and Medical Marijuana Expansion (MMEP) Project Manager on at least a weekly basis.
Works in collaboration with business specialists to ensure that UAT cycles fully validate requirements for the project. Will be resident with the project business partners.
Executes UAT cycle test cases as required to validate project requirements.
Knowledge of Oregon's Medical Marijuana Program is desired, but not required.
