EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Read, write, perform mathematical calculations, understand verbal or written instructions, provide verbal or written information to others, work continuous shift if requested, work scheduled or unscheduled overtime if requested, maintain a good attendance and punctuality record, follow all safety rules and maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility, and work well with others. Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment. High school education or the equivalent. Computer literate: record keeping, spreadsheets, word documents. Problem solving and good decision making skills.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Performs qualification tests on cable products to insure conformance to quality standards and customer requirements. Uses applicable test methods and inspection procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Performs electrical and/or physical tests on cables and components.
•Evaluates test results and trends, makes “pass or fail” decisions and initiates additional testing pursuant to failures. Utilizes test equipment such as low voltage test set, tensile testers, analytical balances, micrometer, calipers and other precision measuring devices.
•Knowledge of products, production, customer requirements, and manufacturing processes.
•Use of computer software and applications to record and document data
•Measures products for conformance to specifications.
•Keep machines and immediate work area clean and orderly.
•Perform all required quality assurance inspections, and performance testing per customer specifications
•Maintains laboratory records, inputs analytical data in quality record keeping system
•Document, record, and store all quality data resulting from product inspections, testing, and audits.
•Perform transfer of finished products into stock (TIS)
•Interact with tooling and equipment vendors, contractors, etc. as needed
•Prepare product samples for testing per applicable specifications
•Evaluate test equipment and tool performance
•Perform test equipment calibrations.
•Contribute ideas for the improvement of quality control functions
•Assist with development of test methods, procedures, and quality inspections as needed
•Operate a forklift to perform material handling.
•Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Read, write, perform mathematical calculations, understand verbal or written instructions, provide verbal or written information to others, work continuous shift if requested, work scheduled or unscheduled overtime if requested, maintain a good attendance and punctuality record, follow all safety rules and maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility, work well with others, and distinguish colors correctly.
•Must be able to work safely in a Low to Medium Voltage testing environment (qualified in one plant testing cage) following all mandatory safety procedures. Must be able to perform precision work safely with sharp instruments
•Good interpersonal skills. Candidate must be self-starter, requiring minimal supervision.
•Resourceful and creative thinker with the ability to develop simple and efficient alternative solutions
•Medium to Heavy Work. Must be able to safely drive any size forklift.
•Tester will be standing and walking on concrete the majority of the workday.
•Bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 lbs will be necessary frequently throughout work shifts.
•Good eyesight (safety glasses required).
•Ability to hear; excessive noise level at designated work stations requires the use of a hearing PPE
