Position Title: Part-Time Laboratory Director
Position Summary:
Provides limited, part-time oversight of moderate complexity laboratory operations in a research setting to ensure regulatory compliance, quality standards, and appropriate clinical laboratory practices. Serves as the designated Laboratory Director as required by applicable regulations and accrediting agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide overall laboratory oversight and direction.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and accreditation requirements (e.g., CLIA and state regulations).
Review and approve laboratory policies, procedures, and quality management activities.
Monitor quality assurance and proficiency testing performance.
Advise on personnel qualifications, competency assessments, and staffing requirements.
Review and address significant quality, safety, regulatory, or operational issues.
Be available for consultation regarding laboratory testing and compliance matters.
Participate in inspections, audits, and corrective action reviews as needed.
Qualifications:
Meets all regulatory requirements for Laboratory Director under applicable moderate complexity CLIA and state regulations.
Appropriate medical, scientific, or doctoral degree and licensure/certification as required.
Experience directing or overseeing clinical laboratory operations.
