Job description

This position is responsible for performing key golf ball related testing that produces reliable and consistent results. This individual will prepare samples for testing, utilize a variety of precision measurement tools, and provide test data to management with well documented results. This person will work closely with engineers to develop tests that simulate on-course play and is responsible for planning and maintaining an efficient test schedule, as well as working with The Kingdom staff to coordinate testing schedules. The schedule is Monday-Friday starting at 12:30PM - 9 PM.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tests on products, materials, and equipment, according to written and verbal instructions, as well as engineering drawings and sketches
  • Prepare and organize samples prior to measurement and testing
  • Apply knowledge in such areas as: golf, precision measuring equipment, tooling, plastics, test equipment, and hand tool usage to carry out responsibilities
  • Conduct full tests and inspections, including the set-up of equipment and tools necessary to perform tests, compiling and plotting data, and submitting results to the designated person
  • Contribute to the design of test equipment, set ups, inspections, and processes
  • Use and adapt devices to produce or test new products; maintain current metrology, endurance and performance tools and equipment
  • Assist in component qualification, process qualification and related troubleshooting
  • Perform routine maintenance and necessary repairs on tools and equipment.
  • Record data in applicable systems and produce graphs, charts, and simple reports; maintain atest data archives for future reference
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with established safety procedures and practices
  • Interface with vendors as needed (including on-site visits) to audit performance to company standards and/or resolve issues
  • Coordinate with Kingdom Staff to plan and adjust the testing schedule
  • Assist in the maintenance of their test equipment
  • Advise other technicians on testing procedures to ensure consistency and data quality
  • Facilitate highly specialized testing through collaboration with engineers
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use arithmetic (decimals, percentages, fractions) to perform calculations, set-ups, inspections, tests, and report results)
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Able to safely set up, operate, and maintain equipment to perform various tests
  • High level of computer literacy; knowledge of MS Office suite of programs a must (including Excel formula proficiency)
  • Demonstrated organization skills and ability to accurately maintain large amounts of information
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic process and equipment problems
  • Ability to work with periodic supervision or direction
  • Ability to effectively interface with others at all levels of the organization
  • Have a growth mindset and desire to continually grow.

Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using precision measuring tools and carrying out the responsibilities cited above.
  • Experience in laboratory environment and tools, including precise measurement tools, documentation, SOPs, and data management, is preferred

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Exposure to dirt, dust and noise
  • Physically able to lift 25 lbs, bend, stoop, reach and perform non-routine tasks as require
  • Able to work various shifts and/or overtime as required

The expected hourly rate for this position is $22 - $24 per hour.
