Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for conducting laboratory tests on commercial and residential Mitsubishi HVAC products and providing daily reports of testing activities to support Product Engineering. Note: This role does not involve software (code) testing and is a Second Shift position with working hours being 3 PM - 11:30 PM / Monday - Friday.
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Execute daily testing of Mitsubishi HVAC products, including data collection, analysis, and summarization of test results.
  • Identify, select, and set up test equipment required for each test.
  • Perform specialized testing, including air leakage, airflow measurement, and simulated transportation testing of Mitsubishi HVAC products.
  • Work with management and engineering teams to develop test plans and schedules.
  • Assist with coordinating calibration activities with third-party vendors.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining work instructions applicable to laboratory activities.
  • Research, interpret, and implement test standards for specific Mitsubishi HVAC product testing.
  • Prepare and plan certification testing to meet UL and EPA requirements.
  • Support third-party testing of Mitsubishi HVAC products for research and strategic initiatives.
  • Support annual offsite testing of Mitsubishi HVAC products for AHRI certification.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • BS in Engineering, equivalent military experience, or 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Basic understanding of AC and DC circuits (required).
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics (highly preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience in a testing or laboratory environment (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and analytical approach to problem solving.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $72,800 and $100,100/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
