Job Description
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Manufacturing Test Technician is responsible for operating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing precision electro-mechanical and electro-optical systems. This role focuses on ensuring assembled units meet performance and quality specifications through detailed test procedures, diagnostics, and system validation. The Manufacturing Technician plays a critical role in maintaining product reliability by identifying issues and restoring functionality in complex devices.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate and test precision electro-mechanical and optical systems to verify performance against specifications
  • Execute detailed test procedures using diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other measurement tools
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues to restore product functionality
  • Analyze test results and identify root causes of failures or performance deviations
  • Perform system-level validation of complex devices, ensuring adherence to quality, reliability, and performance standards
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to support testing and troubleshooting activities
  • Accurately document test data, results, and repair actions in manufacturing systems
  • Maintain strict adherence to ESD, safety, and handling procedures for sensitive components
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process or product issues and recommending solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical, test, or electronics-related role
  • Hands-on experience using diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters and/or oscilloscopes
  • Experience working with electro-mechanical systems; exposure to optics or laser-based systems strongly preferred
  • Experience performing test procedures on complex devices and interpreting results
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience with optical systems, lasers, or imaging technologies preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing test or diagnostics environment preferred
  • Familiarity with calibration and measurement processes preferred
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or manufacturing/test software
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
