Job Title: Test Lead

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid)

W2 Hourly Rate: $65 - $70/hour

Overview:

We are seeking a Test Lead who will support our client’s legacy system replacement and modernization initiatives by coordinating and overseeing Functional User Acceptance Testing activities. The role will lead test strategy, planning, execution, defect management, and testing governance while collaborating with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors. This position will help ensure complete, traceable, and business-aligned validation of critical system functionality throughout the development lifecycle.

Duties:
  • Coordinate and oversee all Functional User Acceptance Testing activities supporting legacy system replacement and modernization initiatives.
  • Lead the development and governance of test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and end-to-end test scripts.
  • Oversee vendor testing teams to ensure alignment with business requirements, quality standards, project milestones, and delivery timelines.
  • Participate in Joint Application Development sessions and requirements discussions to validate business rules and system functionality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, developers, and technical teams to establish complete and business-aligned test coverage.
  • Manage structured test execution, defect tracking, retesting, reporting and documentation across integrated and isolated test cycles.
  • Maintain consistency, completeness, and traceability across testing artifacts, requirements, defects, and acceptance results.
  • Use Jira, Zephyr, SharePoint, SQL, and applicable AI-assisted testing tools to organize test assets, analyze results, and improve testing workflows.
  • Identify testing risks, requirement gaps, environment issues, and dependencies; communicate findings and drive issues through successful resolution.
Mandatory Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of software testing experience, including at least 4 years in a test lead role.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding vendor test teams and coordinating complex Functional User Acceptance Testing cycles.
  • Experience supporting legacy system replacement, modernization, or migration initiatives.
  • Experience interpreting business rules and participating in requirements-gathering and Joint Application Development sessions.
  • Strong experience developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, end-to-end test scripts, and testing documentation.
  • Experience overseeing test execution, defect management, structured test cycles, and governance of testing artifacts.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Zephyr, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience providing business-aligned test coverage in support of User Acceptance Testing.
  • Proven ability to execute integrated and isolated tests, analyze results, and perform CRUD operations on large volumes of raw data using SQL.
  • Experience defining project scope, interpreting technical specifications, establishing test environments, setting milestones and expectations, managing competing priorities, and facilitating technical, operational, or business requirements.
  • Experience working across SDLC methodologies, including Agile.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong requirements analysis, gap identification, documentation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with AI-driven testing tools, test automation scripting languages, and test automation concepts.
  • Prior experience supporting User Acceptance Testing for public pension systems.
  • Experience with API and web services testing.
  • Experience with performance and load testing.
  • Experience with workflow systems, document management, and document scanning processes.
  • Certified Software Test Professional certification or ISTQB certification at the CTFL, CTAL, or CTEL level.
