Job Description

EBAD seeks an engineer for the position Development Engineer, reporting to the Product Development Engineering Lead.

Responsibilities:

The development engineer (DE) is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical and schedule aspects of the project/product from concept through development, qualification and production. Primary duties include:

  • Development and maintenance of the technical data package
  • Create 3D conceptual models
  • Perform design trade studies and hand calculations
  • Interact with customers on design, interface and functional details
  • Interact with suppliers to procure prototype parts for risk reduction testing
  • Execute the EBAD development process by facilitating internal and customer facing cross-functional meetings and design reviews
  • Requirements generation, allocation, flow down, and verification
  • Technical compliance and risk assessment/management
  • Coordination of project team technical tasks
  • Additional duties include coordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval for this documentation.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline and experience in project, design or related engineering experience. Mechanical and/or Aerospace are the preferred engineering disciplines.

Required experience includes:

  • Proven leadership of technical teams
  • Strong time and task management skills
  • Ability to evaluate, understand, and apply customer requirements and government/military specifications to design
  • Demonstrated experience generating 3D models & 2D drawings, SolidWorks preferred
  • Capable of interpreting GD&T
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills for interaction with various levels of management and customers
  • Ability to adapt to project changes and overcome technical challenges
  • Demonstrated competency in problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
  • Competent with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of explosive materials and energetic devices
  • Experience with product development, rapid prototyping, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with product testing including test requirements development and procedure generation
  • Knowledge of dynamic test methods including shock, sinusoidal vibration, and random vibration
  • Experience applying GD&T and understanding of how it affects part manufacturing, inspection, and cost
  • Ability to perform tolerance analyses to ensure proper assembly and system integration
  • Experience with MS Project
  • ANSYS and Solid Works experience
  • Aerospace industry experience
