Job description

Job Description

About the role: We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented AI Prompt Engineer / Legal Content Developer to help design, build, and optimize AI-driven tools that support complex legal writing workflows. This role goes beyond traditional legal writing, focusing on developing, refining, and scaling prompt frameworks and AI-assisted solutions that enhance the quality, consistency, and efficiency of legal content creation.

As part of a forward-thinking team, you will collaborate closely with attorneys, technologists, and operations stakeholders to shape how AI is leveraged across immigration casework. This is an opportunity to play a key role in transforming legal service delivery through intelligent tool development and prompt engineering.

How will you make a difference as an AI Prompt Engineer / Legal Writer at Fragomen?

  • Design, test, and iterate on AI prompts to support the drafting of complex business immigration case materials (e.g., O-1, EB-1, NIW petitions).
  • Partner with legal teams to translate nuanced legal strategies into structured, repeatable prompt frameworks.
  • Develop and optimize AI-assisted workflows that improve drafting efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs, refining prompts to ensure high-quality, compliant, and persuasive legal content.
  • Collaborate with internal technology teams to enhance and expand AI-enabled tools and platforms.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on prompt engineering best practices and AI-assisted legal writing.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual drafting and research processes.
  • Ensure all AI-assisted outputs align with legal standards, firm policies, and client expectations.
  • Continuously monitor and improve prompt performance based on feedback, outcomes, and evolving AI capabilities.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and the development of prompt libraries and documentation.

Leverage your valuable skills and experience to make an impact at Fragomen:

  • Bachelors degree in Creative Writing, English, Journalism, or writing related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in legal writing, technical writing, AI prompt engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in developing tools and systems, not just using them.
  • Experience working with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms).
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical skills with the ability to break down complex information into structured inputs.
  • Ability to think systematically about language, logic, and workflows.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with emerging technologies.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with legal and technical teams.
  • Business immigration experience is a plus but not required.

All offers and/or employment contracts are contingent upon the successful completion of the Firm's pre-employment screening process. This process may include verifying the candidate's identity, confirming legal authorization to work in the offered position's location, and conducting a comprehensive background check, where permitted by local regulations. We use limited AIassisted tools for administrative screening purposes only - never for decisionmaking. All hiring decisions are made by people.
