Job description

RdF Corporation is seeking a Metrology Calibration Technician for our facility in Hudson, NH. Applicants should be responsible and curious self-starters who can work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.


Key Responsibilities of Metrology Calibration Technician:

  • Performs simple to complex set-ups of calibration laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.  Records data and maintains detailed documentation of processes performed. Informs the Quality Assurance Manager of equipment that is not performing satisfactorily.
  • Performs minor repairs to test and measuring equipment. Makes recommendations regarding the use of outside instrument repair and calibration services for these instruments.
  • Schedules the calibration and maintenance of measurement and test equipment using computer based systems in accordance with established procedures.
  • Responsible for the successful maintenance of the calibration information databases and manual records. This involves data entry and document filing.
  • Removes equipment requiring calibration or maintenance from the point of use and returns it to the proper location following servicing or calibration.
  • Reviews certification records received from external sources for accuracy.
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
  • Performs periodic self audits of the calibration system, including documentation thereof and calibration status labels applied to controlled instruments.
  • Rests and calibrates RdF products following established procedures. 

Requirements of Metrology Calibration Technician:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Full-time position – RdF maintains a desirable 9/80 work week and is closed on alternating Fridays.
