About the Role

This is the senior technical seat in our Orange County shop. As a Senior EV Reconditioning Technician, you own the complex diagnostic and heavy repair work that the rest of the team escalates to you — high-voltage battery, charging, drivetrain, drivability, and software issues across multiple EV platforms. You'll set the quality and safety standard, sign off on vehicles before they're listed for retail, and mentor the junior technicians coming up behind you. It's a role for an experienced diagnostician who works with high ownership and wants to help build a recon operation from the ground up.

What You'll Do
  • Lead diagnosis and repair across high-voltage battery, charging, drivetrain, thermal, and software systems
  • Resolve complex drivability, electrical, and NVH issues using OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, meters, and oscilloscopes
  • Perform heavy mechanical repairs, suspension and alignment work, and ADAS calibration
  • Safely service and isolate high-voltage systems in accordance with OEM and Ever procedures
  • Own final quality sign-off on reconditioned vehicles before retail listing
  • Read wiring diagrams and schematics and interpret CAN/LIN network faults
  • Mentor and develop junior technicians, and provide feedback to leadership on process and quality
  • Document diagnostics and repairs thoroughly and accurately in Ever's internal systems
  • Help build and refine Ever's recon SOPs and quality standards as we scale
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to protect cycle time without compromising quality or safety
Qualifications & Fit
  • 3+ years of automotive technician experience, including hands-on diagnostic work
  • Previous EV OEM experience (Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, etc.) strongly preferred
  • High-voltage safety certification, or the ability to obtain it immediately
  • Proven ability to independently diagnose complex electrical, high-voltage, and drivability issues
  • Strong command of OEM diagnostic software and EV scan tools
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior technicians a plus
  • High ownership — comfortable setting the quality and safety bar for the shop
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Passion for EVs and future mobility
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record (must be 21+ to road test per policy)
Technical Skills
  • Deep knowledge of high-voltage battery, charging, low-voltage, and EV powertrain systems
  • Advanced diagnostics — DVOM, oscilloscope, CAN/LIN network troubleshooting, and schematic-based fault isolation
  • Drivability diagnosis, wheel alignment, and ADAS calibration
  • Proficiency with OEM and aftermarket EV diagnostic platforms (e.g., Autel, OEM toolboxes)
  • Multi-make EV servicing experience across Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, and others
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
  • ASE certifications strongly preferred — A-series (A4, A5, A6, A7, A8) plus L1 and/or L3 advanced and L4 (ADAS)
Benefits
  • Competitive salary + performance bonus
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • PTO
  • 401(k) plan
Why Ever and this role?
  • Own the most advanced EV technical work in the shop
  • Set the standard and build the playbook for a growing recon operation
  • Work hands-on with the newest EV models across every major platform
  • Mentor and shape a team you'll help grow
  • Join the fastest-growing EV retailer in the U.S.
  • Clear path into Technician Lead / Shop Lead roles as we scale the network
  • Direct impact on vehicle quality and customer experience

Ever is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and experiences to apply.
