Neurologist | General & Cognitive | Toledo, OH Neurologist - General & Cognitive Focus Practice Name Mercy Health Neurology - Neuroscience Institute Location St. Vincent Hospital and surrounding Metro locations Position Full-Time Neurologist - General & Cognitive Schedule Monday - Friday (5-8 hour days, optional 4-10 hour days) Hours 36 hrs clinical care, 4 hrs administrative per week Hybrid Position 80-90% outpatient, 10-20% inpatient rounding Call Rotation Average 6 weeks per year (equitable rotation) Position Overview Mercy Health Neurology - Neuroscience Institute is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Neurologist specializing in both General Neurology and Cognitive Neurology. This full-time, hybrid position offers a balance between outpatient clinical work and inpatient rounding service, as well as resident teaching and potential research opportunities.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and dynamic team that provides a comprehensive range of neurologic care within the Mercy Health network. Key Responsibilities Outpatient Practice: Develop and manage an ambulatory (outpatient) neurology practice, including incorporating virtual visits. Provide clinical care for patients with general and cognitive neurological disorders.

Average outpatient caseload: 15-20 patients per day. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including MAs, LPNs, and clerical support, ensuring efficient patient flow and excellent care delivery. Inpatient Rounding & Call: Provide inpatient rounding services at St.

Vincent Medical Center and Metro services. Equitable on-call rotation, with an average of 6 weeks per year (could fluctuate slightly). Rounding service at St.

Vincent: 20-35 patients/day, with support from 2 attendings, 1 APP, and 3-4 residents. Metro services: 1 attending covering 2 hospitals with 10-15 patients/day. Virtual visits and in-touch services to facilitate patient care during rounding.

Teaching & Education: Engage in resident teaching, providing didactics and supervising residents in clinic. Participate in weekly resident clinic, journal clubs, and grand rounds presentations. Provide teaching support to residents on both inpatient and outpatient services.

Opportunity to mentor and educate within a competitive Neurology residency program. Research (Optional): Research support available for those interested in pursuing academic or clinical research in neurology. Collaboration & Multidisciplinary Care: Work within a collaborative, patient-centered team focused on delivering exceptional care.

The Neurology department is part of a larger Neuroscience team, including Neurosurgery, Endovascular/Stroke, and Neurocritical Care. Facilitate patient access to medical care, recommending appropriate referrals and ensuring smooth transitions within the department. Qualifications Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology.

Specialization in General Neurology and Cognitive Neurology. Ability to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Experience in teaching residents and providing didactic sessions.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Interest in academic medicine and resident education is preferred. Practice Support Outpatient office includes MA, LPN, and clerical support, with a staffing ratio based on WRVUs.

Access to a robust team of neurologists, including hospitalists, as well as advanced practice providers. Ancillary Services Outpatient Services: Access to 2 high-field 1.2 Tesla open MRIs. Close proximity to Physical Therapy services

On-site Neuropsychologist services at Sunforest office. Inpatient Services: Full range of inpatient physical therapy and imaging services. Case management collaboration.

Neurocritical care available at St. Vincent Medical Center. Comprehensive Stroke Center with Endovascular services.
