Job description

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada's largest airport for the future of air travel-including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Coordinator will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of work within the Interim Infrastructure Sub-Program at Toronto Pearson Airport. This includes a mix of airside and terminal-adjacent works, such as aircraft hardstands, roadway infrastructure (including North Service Road), and enabling and expansion works within Terminals 1 & 3.

This role will support delivery in a complex, live airport environment where construction activities must be carefully coordinated with ongoing operations. Responsibilities include project administration, construction documentation, site coordination, schedule and cost tracking, and ensuring alignment with PACT delivery strategies and program reporting requirements.

The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting fast-paced, phased delivery, where design and construction may progress in parallel and early works packages are advanced to protect schedule and minimize operational disruption.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Project Manager(s) in planning and executing construction activities across airside, roadway, and terminal interface projects.
  • Coordinate enabling works, phased construction activities, and early works packages to support accelerated delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, lookaheads, and progress trackers aligned with program milestones.
  • Coordinate site access, permits (including airside and restricted area access), inspections, and contractor onboarding.
  • Assist in organizing design reviews, constructability workshops, and stakeholder coordination meetings.
  • Maintain common data environment (ACC) for RFIs, change orders, submittals, drawings, and site instructions in accordance with program controls requirements.
  • Support review and routing of contractor and consultant submissions for completeness and compliance.
  • Track construction progress, deficiencies, commissioning activities, and close-out documentation across multiple concurrent work areas.
  • Support procurement activities, including preparation of scopes of work and coordination of early release packages.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators for internal and client reporting.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, engineering teams, airport operations, and internal stakeholders to coordinate work in active environments.
  • Attend site visits; document site observations, constraints, and action items, particularly within active airside and terminal areas.
  • Coordinate construction activities to minimize disruption to airport operations, including staging, access, and logistics planning.
  • Support compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements specific to airport construction environments.
  • Ensure project documentation meets PACT, GTAA, and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Participate in risk identification, constructability reviews, and quality/commissioning activities.
  • Support with other duties as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office or site hours. At times, operational needs may require work outside these hours, with reasonable notice provided. All schedule or on call adjustments will comply with applicable employment standards legislation. It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background check and successfully attain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC) upon joining the company.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in project coordination within a construction environment.
  • Strong interest in supporting large infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with GTAA or other major airport procedures is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility for RAIC clearance required.
