Tennis Professional

Lake Norman Racquet Club

Position Summary

Lake Norman Racquet Club is seeking an energetic and service-oriented Tennis Professional to join our team. This individual will play a key role in growing the club's tennis programming while providing quality instruction and creating a positive experience for members and guests.

The Tennis Professional will work with players of all ages and skill levels through private lessons, group instruction, clinics, and club programming while actively participating in club events and helping build an engaged tennis community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and teach a variety of tennis programming, including:
  • Adult clinics
  • Club programming
  • Junior clinics and camps
  • Group lessons
  • Private and semi-private lessons
  • Develop engaging lesson plans for players of all ages and ability levels.
  • Build and maintain a strong private lesson clientele.
  • Assist with organizing, promoting, and conducting leagues, mixers, tournaments, social events, and other club programming.
  • Participate in club events and member engagement activities.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while creating a fun, inclusive, and professional atmosphere.
  • Assist with court setup, equipment organization, and maintaining a clean, safe teaching environment.
  • Promote tennis programming and help grow participation through member outreach and referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with club leadership and fellow professionals to expand programming and increase member satisfaction.
  • Stay current on teaching techniques and industry trends through continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Previous tennis playing and/or teaching experience.
  • Experience working with players of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals, techniques, and rules.
  • USTA Safe Play certification required or must be obtained prior to beginning instruction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude with a passion for teaching and growing the game.
  • Organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends based on programming and event needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and actively demonstrate tennis instruction for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry tennis equipment, ball carts, and teaching aids.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
