Title: Assistant Women's Tennis Coach
Position Summary:
The Assistant Women's Tennis Coach assists the Head Coach in leading, operating, and coaching a nationally competitive NCAA Division I Women's Tennis program. This role is instrumental in talent identification, on-court technical and tactical development, dual-match coaching, program administration fostering an environment focused on the student-athlete experience.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist in designing and executing high level practice plans and individual training sessions
  • Teach and educate student-athletes on proper fundamentals, techniques and strategies in tennis
  • Assist with recruiting
  • Assist with travel planning and equipment maintenance
  • Commitment to University, ACC and NCAA compliance
  • Additional duties to further the mission and success of Duke Women's Tennis

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 2-4 years of college playing or coaching experience
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications
  • Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage student-athletes
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules
  • The scope of this position requires weekend, evening and possible holiday hours.
  • Thrive in fast paced environment, possess a keen attention to details, and ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations
  • Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process
