Job description

Security Engineer III – Tier 3
Location: Dallas, TX – On-Site
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Rate: Up to $80/hour DOE


Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer III with strong Tier 3-level security engineering and troubleshooting experience in mid-sized to large enterprise environments. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for resolving complex security issues, supporting security technologies, responding to incidents, and strengthening the organization’s overall security posture.
Candidates must possess strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, along with a stable employment history and demonstrated career progression.



Key Responsibilities
Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex security incidents and technical issues.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and remediate security events, vulnerabilities, and infrastructure security concerns.
Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise security tools and controls.
Perform root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
Support incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring activities.
Partner with network, infrastructure, cloud, application, and SOC teams to resolve security issues.
Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and security standards.
Provide technical guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 security personnel as needed.



Required Qualifications
Strong experience as a Security Engineer, Cybersecurity Engineer, Information Security Engineer, or similar role.
Demonstrated Tier 3 / senior-level troubleshooting and escalation experience.
Experience supporting mid-sized to large enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of network security, endpoint security, vulnerability management, IAM, incident response, and security monitoring.
Hands-on experience with enterprise security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability-management platforms.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, Active Directory, authentication, and enterprise networking.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Stable employment history with demonstrated technical progression.



Preferred Qualifications
Experience with technologies such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Tenable, Qualys, Azure, or AWS is preferred.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CySA+, SecurityX/CASP+, CCSP, GIAC, or vendor-specific security certifications are a plus.



Engagement Requirements
Candidates must currently reside in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and be available to work on-site in Dallas.
Contract: 6 months
Rate: Up to $80/hour, depending on experience
