The Gist...
We are seeking a Data Analyst - Lead who will lead analytical support services for a government client implementing mission-critical policies. This role is responsible for building and deploying digital and analytics tools that communicate key metrics, convey trends, and align leadership priorities and strategic intent in real time. The Data Analyst will develop key data-driven insights, dashboards, and tracking/reporting tools that enable senior government leadership to make timely, informed policy decisions.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise across data analytics and visualization platforms, combined with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for non-technical, executive-level audiences. The Data Analyst will play a critical role in the development of key data analytics work products and work closely with team members and government stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
What Your Day Might Include...
Dashboard & Analytics Tool Development
  • Design, build, and deploy interactive dashboards and digital analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) that convey key metrics, statistics, and trends to leadership in real-time
  • Develop tracking tools that monitor policy implementation progress, key performance indicators (KPIs), milestones, risks, and status.
  • Lead a team of data analysts and make key decisions related to analytical work products.

Data Analysis and Insights
  • Analyze large, complex, disparate datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Translate technical findings into clear, concise recommendations that inform data-driven policy decisions.
  • Present findings to senior-level executives and stakeholders.

Data Management
  • Build, maintain, and automate data pipelines, queries, and data models to support dashboard and reporting needs.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all work products.
  • Troubleshoot issues and risks as they arise related to data sources, data refreshes, and performance of analytical work products.

Reporting and Communications Support
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, briefings, and visualizations to support leadership's objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with communications and business transformation teams to ensure data products align with broader messaging and strategic narratives.
  • Present analytic findings and dashboard capabilities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Support
  • Work closely with the Program Manager, Contractor/Consulting Teams, Government Stakeholders, and Senior Leadership to understand data needs and priorities.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions to ensure analytics tools meet the needs of the end user.

Qualifications
  • US Citizenship Required to obtain Public Trust, active DHS CBP Public Trust preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3 or more years of demonstrated experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and/or data visualization.
  • Experience leading data analytics and data visualization teams preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying dashboards and analytics tools in a professional environment.
  • Strong proficiency with data visualization platforms such as Power BI.
  • Proficiency in data query tools such as SQL and programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Strong technical expertise across the full analytics lifecycle: data sourcing, cleaning, modeling, visualization, and deployment
  • Proven ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into clear insights for executive and non-technical audiences
  • Experience developing tracking tools or performance dashboards tied to program or policy implementation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with briefing/presenting to senior stakeholders.
