Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Practice Manager, The Front Office Representative will answer phone calls and greet patients entering the facility. The Front Office Representative will correctly identify patient demographics and process data entry along with being able to schedule appointments, document telephone messages, and forward requests to the patient care team. Additional duties include collecting co-payments, obtaining insurance authorizations, assisting with referrals, obtaining release of information, setting up records for new patients and additional administrative support functions.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent as recognized by an approved government accreditation association.
  • Demonstrate ability in keyboard proficiency with acceptable speed and accuracy, use of Microsoft Office applications, microcomputer and office equipment with acceptable speed and accuracy.

  • Current Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card, if required for the practice (new hires must also complete the application process for this card before being released to their department, if applicable to practice).
  • Able to coordinate and appropriately schedule the provider's schedules (triage).
  • Experience with confirming eligibility with insurance companies required.
  • Ability to operate microcomputer, 10- key calculator and other office equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form required.
  • Work requires exceptional interpersonal skills to interview and obtain information from patients and interact with other MRGMC personnel and outside personnel.
  • Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.
  • Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 0-2 years customer service or healthcare experience
  • CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or other approved educational programs
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems
