Description of Work
Perform a variety of duties involved in the administration, evaluation, treatment, care, and rehabilitation of student-athletes within the University of Nebraska Athletic Department. The focus of responsibilities will be with the sport of Track & Field, including practice and meet coverage, and any required travel. Adherence to all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations will be required. Required travel with the team will involve working long hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Professional degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited program and 1 year of experience as a certified athletic trainer in a collegiate setting.
  • Experience in various, athletic training environments.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • BOC/NATA certification and ability to obtain Nebraska State licensure required.
  • Emergency response certification (CPR, basic life support) required. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year or more experience as full-time, certified athletic trainer within NCAA or professional athletics.
  • Previous experience providing treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to student athletes in an NCAA D-1 Track & Field program.
  • Previous experience in Big Ten Conference.
  • Additional continuing education certification (CES, PES, etc.)
