Description

Job Title: Category Manager Assistant

Reports to: Senior VP Merchandise & Marketing, Category Managers

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

The Category Manager Assistant will support the buying team in the efficient operation of the purchasing group and assist with daily clerical work.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily data entry and filing.

  • Data tracking for the buying team.

  • Assist with marketing and advertising.

  • Assist with purchase orders.

  • Responsible for phone, mail and email follow up with vendors, other category managers, Lewis Drug stores, and merchandise team members.

  • Assist with large seasonal projects (i.e. Halloween, Christmas, Garden Shop, etc.).

  • Assist with or conduct inventory.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the buying office when the category managers are out of the office.

  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

 

Employee Role Expectations

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels of employees with professionalism as well as work independently when needed.

  • Must have high level of initiative and ability to follow instruction - whether verbal or written.

  • Must value organization and have the ability to prioritize.

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, as specific timelines for deadlines must be satisfied.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Drive.

  • Accuracy and speed (50 wpm) in data entry.

  • Strong communication skills to include verbal and written correspondence.

  • Knowledge of Lewis Drug policies and procedures preferred.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time as this position is mostly sedentary.

  • Ability to lift/move items up to 10 lbs occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently.

  • Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.

  • Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction.
