Job description

Job Title: Software Developer
Reports To: Vice President, Information Technology
General Responsibilities:
The Software Developer will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software applications in collaboration with the IT team. This role involves writing, testing, and debugging code, as well as supporting end users with technical needs. Ideal candidates will have experience with multiple programming languages and a strong foundation in front-end or back-end development for UNIX or LINUX environments.
This role reports directly to the VP of Information Technology. Regular responsibilities include contributing ideas and strategies, reviewing plans and progress, evaluating results, and addressing management priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with developers and IT leadership to design, build, and maintain applications.
  • Write, test, and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including bug fixes.
  • Learn and work within the existing codebase while continually improving technical skills.
  • Gather requirements and feedback from end users to inform program functionality.
  • Provide timely responses to user support requests.
  • Monitor and optimize the technical performance of internal systems.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Perform related tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field-or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or Perl.
  • Experience in front-end or back-end development for UNIX or LINUX environments.
  • Familiarity with SQL for data manipulation and retrieval.
  • Knowledge of database management and security practices (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.

Salary:
Salary range: $60,000-$80,000 annually; The position provides a competitive salary based on previous work experience, education, acquired skills, and established relationships. Compensation for every Crossway employee is reviewed and evaluated annually by the Executive Compensation Committee (ECC) of the Crossway Board of Directors.
