Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Marketing Specialist to provide temporary support to a busy Marketing and Communications team. This individual will help maintain ongoing digital marketing initiatives, member communications, email campaigns, website content, and reporting while members of the team are on leave.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and organized marketing professional who can quickly learn existing processes, independently manage deadlines, and collaborate across departments. This role is especially well suited for someone with experience creating

educational or member-focused marketing communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, schedule, test, and launch email marketing campaigns for a variety of organizational initiatives.
  • Draft and edit compelling marketing copy while maintaining a consistent brand voice and messaging style.
  • Manage email lists, audience segmentation, CRM information, and automated marketing communications.
  • Track digital campaign results and compile performance reporting to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Make routine website updates and assist with publishing new digital content.
  • Review emails, landing pages, and website materials for accuracy, functionality, and overall quality prior to launch.
  • Partner with internal departments and creative resources to keep marketing projects and deliverables on schedule.
  • Support communications promoting educational offerings, events, membership initiatives, and other organizational programs.
  • Assist with surveys, including setup, distribution, and reporting.
  • Create or update basic graphics and digital marketing materials as needed.
  • Maintain marketing calendars and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Provide additional marketing and communications support based on department priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience in digital marketing, email marketing, marketing communications, or a related area preferred.
  • Previous experience within an association, membership organization, nonprofit, or similarly audience-focused environment is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience creating email campaigns and digital communications.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities.
  • Experience working with CRM or marketing automation platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, Salesforce, or comparable systems.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems and basic digital content publishing.
  • Ability to create polished, visually engaging marketing communications using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of digital analytics and campaign performance reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage several deadlines and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project coordination skills.

Additional Details:

  • Candidates should be comfortable stepping into established marketing processes and becoming productive quickly.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEO principles, and web optimization is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Planner is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive and comfortable identifying solutions rather than waiting for step-by-step direction.

Perks:

  • Collaborative and close-knit marketing team.
  • High-visibility role with the opportunity to contribute ideas and creative solutions.
  • Exposure to marketing campaigns supporting education, events, professional development, and membership engagement.
