About this Position

This is a part time temporary position.

The Web Intern position within OSU Center for Health Sciences' External Affairs team plays a key supportive role in the university's digital communications efforts. This role reports to the Web Coordinator and supports the Web Coordinator and Web Specialist.

The intern's primary responsibility is to assist with the design, development, and support of the university's digital presence. This requires a customer-service focus, leveraging technical knowledge alongside strong written communication skills to help achieve marketing goals.

Key duties include:

  • Assisting team members with site page layouts and navigation within OSU's content management systems (CMS), which include the university's proprietary CMS and WordPress websites. This involves utilizing established templates and strictly adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Helping ensure that all digital designs meet current accessibility standards.
  • Potentially conducting and reporting analysis on digital analytics, such as site traffic and Google reviews.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in web development/design, or working toward a degree or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) years of professional web development or design experience
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress and proprietary CMS platforms a plus
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) as needed for basic web editing
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS), specifically WordPress and proprietary CMS platforms
  • Experience conducting and interpreting web analytics using platforms like Google Analytics
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), including WordPress and proprietary platforms, and DXP, a plus

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for web development and email design
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for inclusive digital design a plus
  • Graphic design proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Understanding of responsive web design principles
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and other digital analytics tools for tracking and reporting web performance.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for email and web development
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of digital analytics platforms like Google Analytics and SEO best practices are a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript, particularly for developing and troubleshooting emails and web content
  • Graphic design experience using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Familiarity with creating responsive, user-friendly web pages using established brand guidelines
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for accessible web design is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), including WordPress and proprietary platforms, and DXP, a plus
  • Experience troubleshooting customer reported issues and providing a recommended solution based on organizational web standards
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance tools for accessibility testing
