Job Description
Seeking two Water Meter Readers to support utility operations by reading, recording, and maintaining water meter data across assigned routes. This role also includes basic field maintenance tasks such as meter inspections, minor repairs, and assisting with meter installations. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and interacting with the public.
Pay: Up to $16.50 per hour DOEResponsibilities
  • Read water meters on assigned routes and record readings accurately.
  • Identify and report skipped, inaccessible, or faulty meters.
  • Visually inspect meters for proper operation and report defects.
  • Turn water meters on/off and assist with meter installations.
  • Perform minor repairs on leaks and water lines as needed.
  • Explain unusual meter readings to customers in a professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate field notes and reports.
  • Follow assigned routes and daily work schedules.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to read maps and navigate city street routes.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and water meter systems preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
