Temporary Warehouse Supervisor
SUMMARY Directs and coordinates activities of warehouse personnel concerned with documentation, routing, and loading/unloading freight to support all functions within the Sharp by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Coordinates daily activities of warehouse associates.Ensure the completion of all work requests from all Sharp departments in a 24hr time period. These requests include, but are not limited to, MRTF's, samples, inventory counts and pallet access requests.Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.Coordinates the receipt, unloading, processing, and storage of incoming bulk product and components from customers and vendors.Inspect the physical condition of the warehouse, cold rooms, and equipment.Coordinates moves of Finished Goods and Bulk to ensure the warehouse can maintain adequate space to support production while remaining a clean, organized appearance.Manage Overtime and Weekend coverage plans.Coordinate equipment moves utilizing the delivery truck and resources.Coordinate receipt and shipment of Bulk and Finished Goods to be compliant with all Sharp and customer guidelines.Develop and track floor operational metrics to understand employee and business patterns and opportunities.Manage dock appointments to distribute deliveries throughout the week and ensure resources are not overworked in any one day.Process purchased items in the b-pack purchasing system.Maintain floor supply items such as stretch wrap, standard sized pallets, paper, Lido Shippers, TempTales, GPS's and other items requiring inventory on hand to meet internal and customer needs.Ensure sweep logs and cleaning logs are completed as needed.Support production requests and ensure component and finished goods logistics are operating smoothly.Assist Warehouse Manager to ensure delivery of components to support production sites to meet a 4 hr timeline from request to delivery. Escalate occasional component deliveries to aid production as needed.Assist the Warehouse Manager to proactively evaluate daily staffing and resource needs and shift resources as needed to maintain a properly functioning infrastructure to the warehouse system in Allentown.Ensures that forklift inspections are conducted daily.Assist the Warehouse Manager in maintaining up-to-date training compliance for all employees to meet the demands of changing procedures and company policies.Prepare work order for repairs and requisitions for the replacement of equipment.Manage the movement of raw materials between Conshohocken warehouses and Allentown, and finished goods shipment to and from Allentown.Assist Warehouse Manager in investigating Events of non-conformance and recommend solutions to those events.Direct the salvage of damaged or used material.Participate in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.Ensure all employees comply with all safety activities and standards by doing weekly spot checks to identify and correct shortfalls.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage staff coverage of Allentown warehouse, including operation of AS-RS warehousing system. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.COMPUTER SKILLS Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
