Job description

Position Description
The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure-track Assistant Professor position for the Doctor of Audiology program. Candidates must have expertise and qualifications in assessing and treating disorders of hearing and balance. This position will require the individual to provide and supervise clinical services for patients in the TTUHSC Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic and possibly other settings (e.g., schools) in Lubbock, Texas.
Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions
  • Supervise and mentor graduate student clinicians in various settings.
  • Provide clinical services to patients in various settings.
  • Provide service to the department, university, and profession.
  • Participate in clinical simulations.
  • Provide clinically relevant didactic instruction.
  • Participate in professional development.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent and consistent experience supervising graduate student clinicians in direct clinical service within the last three years.
  • At least 5 years of recent, direct audiology service provision to clients.
  • Teaching experience is preferred.

Pay Statement

Required Qualifications
  • Au.D. degree or higher in Audiology.
  • Evidence of at least three (3) years of clinical practice.
  • ASHA certification (CCC-A).
  • State of Texas licensure or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure.

Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
