Position Details

Position Title: College Assistant Professor

College/Division: Arts and Sciences College

Department: 330500-COMPUTER SCIENCE

Location: Las Cruces

Offsite Location (if applicable):

Target Hourly/Salary Rate: Commensurate with qualifications.

Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0

FLSA Status: Exempt

Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is a bargaining unit position with the National Education Association (NEA).

Contingent Upon Funding: Not Applicable

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Teach 12 credits per semester (could be 3 or 4 courses) and participate in departmental activities as required.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Education: PhD degree in Computer Science or related areas.
Experience: none required but demonstration of teaching experience is preferred.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
The candidate must submit the following materials with their application: a teaching statement and, if available, the teaching evaluation from their previous position.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
