Job description

Field Applications Scientist, Immunoassay Specialist (Metro New York area)Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer assistance on complex immunoassay platform questions, including assay design/planning, correlation/bridging between platforms, and data interpretation.
  • Present scientific seminars and support pre-sales evaluations at prospect sites.
  • Attend and present at conferences/tradeshows; provide feedback and updates to internal teams.
  • Provide customer feedback and field visit reports.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in immunoassays; stay current on science/workflows and present to internal teams; collaborate with global FAS teams.
  • Train and support scientists on Luminex & Ella instruments, assay development, and data analysis.
  • Develop customer and internal relationships in the assigned territory.
  • Support sales efforts via technical presentations, product demonstrations, and vendor show participation.
  • Accompany Sales Representatives in customer laboratories to provide technical/applications expertise.
  • Provide post-sales assay development and troubleshooting (in-person, virtual, phone, email); travel to customer labs.
  • Contribute feedback to marketing, product development, and software teams.
  • Assist with creation/review of technical literature and training resources.
  • Create/maintain customer support information in CRM (Salesforce).
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Education/Experience:
  • BS/BA in biochemistry, bioengineering, pharmaceutical sciences, biology, or related life science; MS/PhD and Field Applications Scientist experience preferred.
  • 5+ years hands‑on immunoassay experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of immunoassay principles and applications.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot, optimize, and validate assays/reagents.
  • Excellent oral/written communication; presentation/training skills.
  • Knowledge of current scientific literature and life science methods.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams; technical support experience a plus.
  • Ability to multitask/prioritize; strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience training/teaching.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
