Job description

Summary: The Video Editor will have a passion for filming and video editing, as well as strong leadershipand creative abilities. One should be able to take on a project and see it through to completion. Someone who also likes to work with a team in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have a high level of knowledge and experience with the Adobe Editing Suite, Final Cut X, After Effects, and DSLR Workflow and Operations. Photoshop and Audio Software knowledge s a plus.
This position requires its primary duty must be the performance of work requiring invention, imagination, originality or talent in a recognized field of artistic or creative endeavor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
General:
  • Responsible for hosting, setting up and performing video shoots on-site and offsite
  • Knowledge of high definition cameras, lighting and audio for video shoots
  • Storyboard creation and ability to carry project through to execution
  • Ability to shoot, edit and produce in a fast-paced culture

Filming:
  • Cinematography

Editing:

  • Responding to Technical and Creative Adjustments

Producing:
  • Storyboarding, gear preparing, gear ordering,
  • Specs of the Project: Who, What, When, Where, etc
  • Getting the right people together to get what is needed
  • Good eye for the set - make-up, set building etc.
  • Run through approval process on the front end

Project Management / On-time Completion:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Assign tasks to team members and hold accountable

  • *Number of weekly projects is season based. Some weeks could have a high number of project and some weeks could have a light load of projects.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment (routinely uses standard office and video equipment) and on filming shoots.
Physical Demands
Office time is mostly a sedentary role (stationary at desk and working on a computer); during video shoots, services and events, must have high energy for multiple hour segments.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
The weekly schedule will include 40-45 hours per week and will be the same every week. In addition to your regular weekly hours you will be asked to participate in events that will occasionally include evening or weekend hours, as there are continual seasons where it will be necessary to exceed these minimum hours (i.e., Christmas, Easter, Strategic Planning, are just some examples and do not encompass all of the extended hours opportunities). These hours can/will fluctuate.
Sunday: 8am - 12:00pm
Monday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am - 8:30pm
Wednesday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
Thursday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
Friday: OFF
Saturday: OFF
Travel
Campus to campus local travel and occasional overnight trips will be expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
  • Level of experience: Intermediate (practical application)
  • 4 years of experience in the Video Editing/Cinematography space
