Temporary Travel Agents are professionals hired on a short-term basis to assist clients with their travel planning needs. They may work for travel agencies during busy seasons, fill in for permanent staff, or handle special projects. Their responsibilities include booking flights, accommodations, tours, and providing travel advice. Temporary Travel Agents need strong organizational and customer service skills, and may be required to quickly adapt to new systems and procedures. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible or seasonal work within the travel industry.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a temporary travel agent?

To thrive as a Temporary Travel Agent, you need a solid understanding of travel booking processes, destination knowledge, and often a background in hospitality or tourism. Familiarity with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Amadeus or Sabre and certification such as CTA (Certified Travel Associate) are commonly required. Strong customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills help you build client trust and manage itineraries efficiently. These skills ensure accurate travel arrangements, satisfied clients, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

What are common challenges faced by temporary travel agents, and how can they be managed effectively?

Temporary Travel Agents often face the challenge of quickly adapting to new booking systems and company policies, as each assignment may use different tools and procedures. Our dedicated associates help the company achieve its mission to put the world on vacation. Innovation and growth keep our work interesting and fun. Every day is a chance to learn something new and turn vacation inspiration into exceptional experiences for millions of travelers worldwide.
Job Description

Chase Phone Room Agent

As a Chase Phone Room Agent, you're the recovery engine for our sales pipeline. Your job is to contact clients by phone: either signing them up for an upcoming presentation or reconnecting with guests who previously missed their appointment and getting them rescheduled. You'll work onsite supporting multiple resort brands across the region, partnering closely with marketing, sales, and operations to keep tour flow moving and qualified guests in the seats.

This is a performance-driven role with uncapped earning potential.

What You'll Do:

  • Meet monthly tour flow targets set by management

  • Work an outbound call list daily to book new presentation appointments and recover previously missed tours

  • Qualify clients to ensure they meet the right criteria before scheduling

  • Manage confirmations and reschedules for both internal appointments and third-party vendor bookings with accuracy and follow-through

  • Maintain accurate data entry across Salesforce and sales center systems

  • Prepare and deliver chase materials to resort rooms as needed

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and resort operations teams across the region

  • Assist at the lobby marketing desk when needed

  • Compile and distribute daily performance numbers to regional leadership

What Success Looks Like:

Your list is worked, your numbers are clean, and qualified guests are showing up. The best Chase Agents are persistent without being pushy; they know how to re-engage a cold contact and turn a missed appointment into a confirmed one.

Duties may evolve based on business needs.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Salesforce CRM experience required; advanced familiarity a strong plus.

  • Minimum of 6 months call center, reservations, or equivalent customer service experience required.

  • Ability to actively listen to client needs and use that insight to build value and motivate attendance at a sales presentation.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.

  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills with the ability to think on your feet.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekdays, evenings, and weekends to suit business needs.

How You'll Be Rewarded:

We offer a diverse range of comprehensive health and welfare benefits to associates who work 30 or more hours per week to meet your needs and support you throughout your career with us. Certain benefits may be available to associates working fewer hours where required by applicable law. Travel + Leisure Co. benefits include:
