Job description

Onward Search Education is a specialized education staffing and talent solutions company that helps educators, therapists, and school health professionals find top jobs with the nation's top schools. We're partnering with a school district in Will County, Illinois to hire a dedicated School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an on-site role at 30 hours/week.
As a School Psychologist, you'll help bridge mental health and education by providing evaluations, counseling/interventions, and consultation to support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success--while collaborating closely with families and school teams.
Position Details:

  • Location: On-site, Will County, IL
  • Hours: ~30 hours/week
  • Schedule: Part-time hours; specific days/hours may be flexible
  • School Year: 2026/2027 (approx. Aug 2026 - May 2027)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological and educational assessments to identify student strengths/needs and determine eligibility for services
  • Interpret evaluation results and share findings with families and school teams
  • Support IEP and 504 processes as part of multidisciplinary teams (including eligibility and planning)
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling and targeted interventions (behavioral, social-emotional, coping skills)
  • Consult with teachers/administrators on behavior plans, classroom strategies, and student supports
  • Participate in crisis response and help implement trauma-informed and preventative mental health practices as needed

Qualifications:

  • Illinois School Psychologist license (active)
  • Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) in School Psychology (active)
  • Experience in school-based evaluations, report writing, and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Strong communication skills with families, students, and school teams
  • Ability to manage caseload responsibilities and timelines in a school setting
