What is needed for this job as our Teen Workforce Development Facilitator:

  • 1+ years of experience in youth development, workforce development, or career readiness programming is strongly preferred

  • Event management, volunteer coordination, or similar experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of or interest in workforce trends in industries such as Tech, Healthcare, Finance, Education, Law, and Hospitality

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage teens and community stakeholders

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data management tools

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as program needs require.Comfortable traveling between YMCA branches, schools, and event locations across the city

  • Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and creating safe spaces for all teens

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Teen Workforce Development Facilitator:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Teen Workforce Development Program across Philadelphia and Camden, NJ communities

  • Facilitate program workshops, job shadowing events, and career readiness activities at YMCA branches and partner schools

  • Assist in the planning and execution of events such as Y Super Day, career exploration sessions, and career coach (mentor) meetups

  • Recruit, onboard, and retain program participants by building relationships with local schools, community organizations, and families

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to teens, fostering the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility

  • Collaborate with the Director of Teen Workforce Development to support job shadowing, internships, and mentorship opportunities

  • Monitor participant progress and maintain accurate attendance, program data, and reporting

  • Ensure participant safety and well-being, whether on-site at YMCA branches or at external events

  • Communicate effectively with teens, parents, employers, and other stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

  • Motivate teens with encouragement, constructive feedback, and recognition of achievements

  • Support participant career development by facilitating career-readiness workshops, mock interviews, and goal-setting sessions

  • Oversee the implementation of program curriculum for 9th-12th graders, ensuring alignment with Pennsylvania’s Act 158 and other relevant standards
