Position Summary

The Security Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, servicing, and maintaining commercial access control and security systems. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in access control technologies, low-voltage cabling, and security hardware who enjoys troubleshooting and delivering exceptional customer service.


Primary Responsibilities
  • Configure and program access control systems
  • Wire and connect power supplies, controllers, card readers, and related devices
  • Add and manage users, access groups, and door schedules
  • Troubleshoot access control hardware and software issues
  • Install, pull, terminate, and test CAT6 and low-voltage cabling
  • Work with keystone jacks, patch panels, RJ45 connectors, and punch-down blocks
  • Install and support card readers and access control devices
  • Perform service calls, maintenance, and system upgrades
  • Support commercial video surveillance and security system deployments
  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide professional customer support

Required Qualifications
  • Experience with commercial Access Control Systems
  • Ability to wire and configure access control panels and devices
  • Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, power supplies, and basic electrical circuits
  • Experience pulling, terminating, and testing CAT6 network cabling
  • Familiarity with:
    • Keystone jacks
    • Patch panels
    • RJ45 terminations
    • Punch-down blocks
  • Experience working with card readers and door access devices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Professional communication and customer service abilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Brivo access control systems
  • Experience with Hanwha security or surveillance systems
  • CCTV installation and troubleshooting experience
  • Exposure to alarm systems
  • General understanding of information security principles
  • Previous experience working in commercial security environments
