Brief Details of the Position:
Under the supervision of a licensed professional, this position provides support to the instructional process by assisting in the instruction, rehearsals and/or performances of instrumental music students
during summer band practice. This may include duties such as: Preparing students either as soloists or ensemble members for various performances; supervising sectional rehearsals and ensembles; and
preparing group(s) for participation in school performances, festivals, clinics, parades, etc.
Involves knowledge along with experience of instrumental music techniques, marching band fundamentals, performance practices, and the ability to develop musicianship in a classroom setting. Familiarity
with instrumental music ensembles as well as different instruments and components. Ability to read and interpret music notation; effectively work with all students; and maintain confidentiality.
