Job description

Event Production Manager
Posting Summary
Direct and oversee the Campus Production Team's production services including the delivery, setup/breakdown and onsite support of all production equipment for events on the UVM Campus (excluding the Davis Center). Equipment to include crowd barricades, snow fence, flags, signs, banners, podiums/lecterns, chairs, tables, coatracks, non-licensed electrical (truck tracks and extension cords), fans, trash/recycle bins, and any other event-related equipment. Ensure the timeliness of staff scheduling and efficacy of event support services for all internal UVM and external clients. Coordinate with campus partners, service providers, and vendors on events requiring collaborative efforts for successful execution. Assist in planning, consultation, logistical support of vendors, and coordination of Campus Production Team's production services for UVM Commencement. Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating the Campus Production Team's production personnel within the United Electrical Workers Union and temporary student staff. Create, implement, and maintain a formal training program for all event staff focusing on customer service, safety, accessibility, facilities intricacies, and operation of event equipment. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experiences.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree and two-four years' relevant experience in event support required. Experience with supervising staff required. Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain -driver's record check required. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills required. Ability to work with people at all levels and with varying skillsets and backgrounds. Ability to work productively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task efficiently. Ability to develop, implement, and maintain a staff training /improvement program. Demonstrated ability to use software applications for logistical management of detailed tasks. Must have the ability to lift 61 lbs. and push/pull 62 lbs., climb ladders and work in inclement weather when outdoors. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability and delivering exceptional value and great experience to customers.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in a union environment. Experience working with college-level students. Background and experience in Microsoft Suite and event management software. Experience with basic PA system set up and use. Ability to drive larger vehicles, box trucks, and occasionally tow-behind trailers up to 24'.
Anticipated Pay Range
$65,000-$75,000
