Job description

Overview

Princeton Athletics, a 38-sport Division I intercollegiate program competing in the Ivy League, is searching for a rising star to join its Athletic Communications team as a Communications Assistant.

This position is temporary and runs through June 2027.

Responsibilities

The Athletics Communications Assistant will serve as primary communications contact for assigned varsity programs at Princeton University. In the role, the assistant will promote and publicize student-athletes, coaches and teams via social media, digital media and interpersonal relationships with local and national media.

In addition, the Athletics Communications Assistant will work alongside the other members of the Athletic Communications department to design and implement department-wide communications and social media strategies. They will also work collaboratively with other areas throughout the department, including the other members of the External Relations team - Marketing, Broadcast/Multimedia, and Ticketing - to enhance and grow the Princeton Athletics brand.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree is required and 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Experience managing social media accounts for brands/teams preferred. Time management skills are essential as the candidate will be asked to multitask on a daily basis. Compliance with all Ivy league/NCAA rules and regulations required. Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as well as travel with teams as required.

Strong familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere - preferred.
