Fire Control Technicians - Systems Engineer
Location: Middletown, RI
Facility: SEACORP facility

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP has immediate full-time openings for recentlyseparated Navy Fire Control Technicians who will provide support as SystemsEngineers in Newport, RI. In these positions, candidates will provide systemdesign, integration and test, and operational support for 3rd Party Targeting,BYG-1 Combat Control System, and the Tomahawk Weapon System on all submarineclasses. The primary office location is located in Newport, Rhode Islandsupporting labs at NUWC Newport but may include travel to support eventsonboard submarines both dockside and underway, and at shore sites at differenttheatres.
Essential Capabilities:
  • Working with customer program leads to review systemdesigns and provide recommendations for implementation based on operationalexperience
  • Identifying, investigating and analyzingsoftware and hardware failures to determine root-causes
  • Providing lab test support evaluating new systemcapabilities and troubleshooting problems
  • Identifying temporary workarounds for problemswhile long term solutions are analyzed
  • Identifying operational risks associated withall reported failures
  • Writing clear and concise problem reports
  • Attending meetings as applicable and providenecessary verbal communication

Please note that an Active Secret Security Clearance is required on the date of hire.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline. In lieu of abachelor's degree, qualified candidates will have military experience with USNavy Submarine Combat Systems including completion of Naval Advanced"C" School in the technical field of experience.
Experience: 6 years of related experience, specifically working withsubmarine combat systems. Global Command and Control System - Maritime (GCCS-M)and Radiant Valkyrie Lite (RVL) experience a plus.
As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship
Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)
Clearance: Secret
Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
