JOB SUMMARY:

The Software Engineer position works with users, other members of the IT Department, and third-party consultants to design, develop, test, install, and maintain software solutions. They may mentor or lead other developers/programmers in the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop software solutions by following the specifications provided by other members of the IT Department and following the software development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, update, and improve existing systems.
  • Document solutions by developing clear code and comments as well as documentation in the forms of flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.
  • Occasionally work 3rd party application development consultants and assist in managing the 3rd party relationship.
  • Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guides, etc.
  • Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology.
  • Participate in periodic meetings with other members of the IT Department to discuss progress and issues to be resolved.
  • Serve as a liaison and facilitator between business units to assist in addressing and resolving IT software issues.
  • Update job knowledge by studying new development tools, programming techniques, and relevant computing equipment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Program Manager should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for Product/Project Management, and work with Product/Project Management Team to continuously improve IT performance, and delivery.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience/education/Skill

  • At least 10 years of technology experience with 8+ years' experience developing and maintaining Web front end, database, and custom software code.
  • Extensive knowledge in Microsoft .NET, C#, HTML, Java, Python and SQL.
  • Previous experience with integrations or application development related to an ERP system.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or a combination of related experience and education.
  • Experience building, supporting, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Experience with custom development for the Workday application or similar solutions (e.g., integrations, business processes, calculated fields, reports, or extensions)
  • Excellent technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support.
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Agile Software Development practices
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities;
  • Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, technical experts, and other employees.
  • Ability to work in a team setting, but under limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocol.
  • Ability to travel to other Company locations on a limited basis.
  • Willingness to work nights, overtime and weekends as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift, push or pull objects of various dimensions up to 30 lbs. of weight frequently
  • Ability to perform 80% sedentary work and tolerate prolonged standing / sitting / walking
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
  • Ability to verbally communicate, hear, and specific vision abilities including close vison, distant vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
