Job description

Candidates must be able to clear a background check by FEMA in order to receive facility and systems access. We are seeking temporary full-time Help Desk Specialists to join our surge team who supplement our current workforce during heightened periods of activity. This is a temporary position. Qualified candidates will support a contract with FEMA where inspectors assess damages to homes caused by Presidential declared disasters which include damages from hurricanes. You will be responsible for helping inspectors by providing a myriad of technical related support including resolving technical issues. Training will be given to qualified candidates.

The surge (temporary) Helpdesk Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support for network and remote computer users. Candidate will use technical and customer service skills quickly to provide a quality solution to end-users as needed.

Responsibilities:

· **Ability to work shifts including weekends is a must***

· Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, Android tablets and mobile devices, wired/wireless networking, custom applications and other miscellaneous computer equipment and common software (MS Office, Intune, Adobe Acrobat, VPNs, etc.)

· Help provide onsite and remote support to 60+ local users and up to 2000+ remote users.

· Troubleshoot and terminate network cabling

· Assist in computer inventory collection efforts.

· Ability to travel to disaster sites on short notice to issue and support computer equipment (only in an emergency). Responsible for maintaining inventory of portable computer equipment, attention to detail important.

· Other IT support duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Experience supporting a Microsoft Active Directory environment

· Excellent customer service/phone technical support skills

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to work independently and utilize strong problem-solving skills

· Ability to handle moving PCs and other IT-related equipment

· Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Education & Experience:

· Some College preferred

· Certificate (A+) preferred

· 2-3 years’ experience in computer related/technical field

· Bilingual speaking and writing are a plus
